Marvel have finally released the first teaser trailer for their forthcoming super-hero movie Black Panther which stars Kenya actress Lupita Nyong’o and a number of British stars.
The eighteenth movie in the Marvel Film series stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker alongside British actors Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis and Daniel Kaluuya.
In Black Panther, T’Challa returns home as king of Wakanda but finds his sovereignty challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict that has global consequences.
Lupita is playing Nakia, T’Challa’s love interest and member of the Dora Milaje, the all-female special forces of Wakanda who serve as his bodyguards.
The Black Panther trailer opens with Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) being schooled by a captured Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis) about how little the world knows about the mysterious country of Wakanda.
The “textiles, shepherds, and cool outfits” that everyone seems to associate with Wakanda, Klaw laughs are all a front hiding the truth that no one’s ever made it out of Wanda (alive) to expose.
“Explorers have searched for it. Called it El Dorado,” Klaw explains. “They looked for it in South America, but it was in Africa the whole time.”
Black Panther is scheduled for release in February 2018.
