The UK Secretary of State for International Development, Priti Patel, today joined an international Skype video chat between British and Kenyan school children.

Organised with help from the British Council in Kenya and the BBC, the pupils of Kagio Primary School in Kirinyaga enjoyed their video call with their counterparts from White Notley and the Conservative MP for Witham who visited Kenya last year.

Following the video call, pupils from Katie school were interviewed by Eburru TV about the experience and heard from Louisa Kadzo who explained how the British Council is helping to equip Kenyan pupils with skills for the 21st Century.

Louisa is part of the British Council’s Schools Online team which help develop international education in schools by offering development courses and creating partnerships between teachers.

They help teachers to find partner schools, accredit international work and help access funding as well as promoting global citizenship.
