On Wednesday night, the British Council and The Alchemist Bar hosted an evening of jazz.

The evening included performances by the Nairobi Horns Project, Arun Gosh from the UK, and Hussein Masimbi from Tanzania. All three acts are part of the live collaboration scheduled to perform at the Safaricom international Jazz festival this weekend.

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. We do this by making a positive contribution to the UK and the countries we work with – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.

Established in 1947 as a library, the British Council provided study opportunities for Kenyan students and educators. As demand for further study and access to UK educational opportunities grew, the British Council Kenya began a UK exams service and started offering UK scholarships programmes.
