UK High Commission hosts counterterrorism workshop for Kenyan authorities

Yesterday, the British High Commission in Kenya, working with the ODPP (Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions), organised a training workshop for newly posted ATPU (Anti-Terrorism Police Unit) officers.

AIG (Assistant Inspector General) Arrison Otieno was one of the speakers who delivered presentations on topics including national security.

“National security is the protection against internal and external threats to Kenya’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, its people, their rights, freedoms, property, peace, stability and prosperity and other national interests.” – Article 238(1) of the constitution of Kenya, 2010.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Kenya is an independent prosecutorial authority established by Article 157 of the constitution of Kenya 2010.
