It’s Hailey for England but Murton for Wales in today’s Euro 2016 clash

UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Nic Hailey will be cheering on England in this afternoon's Euro 2016 match, while his deputy, Dr John Murton will be supporting Wales.

The High Commissioner is rooting for England today while his deputy is supporting Wales.

Obviously, when home nations play each other in a competition, it places those who are representing the whole of the United Kingdom in a difficult position as they need to show impartiality.

But according to Twitter, the UK High Commissioner, Nic Hailey, and his Deputy, Dr John Murton, have chosen to support England and Wales respectively in this afternoons Euro 2016 fixture which kicks off at 4pm Kenya time (2pm in the UK).

In his Tweet, the High Commissioner said: “It’s a challenge to represent a country which plays itself at football! But I’m for England. My deputy is for Wales”.

Mr Hailey also Tweeted pictures of his preparations to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, which looks like it will be a fabulous function.

England v Wales is scheduled for a 4pm kick off and will be broadcast on SuperSport 3 (DStv channel 653) with repeat showings of the match on SuperSport 4 at 20.00, and tomorrow on SuperSport 12 at 7am and 1pm.
