This morning, at the start of his short visit to Kenya, Prince William the Duke of Cambridge, along with the UK High Commissioner to Kenya Nic Hailey, met with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi.
The Duke spoke of his deep personal affection for Kenya, where he became engaged to his wife Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. The two discussed the deep ties between the UK and Kenya across a wide range of topics, including defence and security. The Duke also paid tribute to Kenya’s role in combating terrorism in Somalia and conservation.
The President Tweeted that the Duke was in the country to see the longstanding conservation and anti-poaching initiatives being supported by Tusk Trust of which the Duke is the Royal Patron.
