Today, the UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Nic Hailey, met with Ministry of Education Science & Technology Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to discuss how to strengthen UK/Kenya Education and Science partnerships.

One such partnership was highlighted last July, when the Kenya High Commission Education Attaché, Margaret Lesuuda, was the Guest of Honour and Speaker at Nelson Primary School in Newham, London, to celebrate its continued successful partnership with St Joseph Combined Academy in Kenya.

Nelson Primary School in conjunction with St Joseph’s Academy in Kenya have developed a collaborative curriculum-based work and exchange programme run by Connecting Classrooms which is a global education programme for schools an initiative by the British Council.

The programme is designed to help young people learn about global issues and become responsible global citizens, as well as giving them the skills they need for work in a global economy.
