UKaid’s Senior Private Sector Development (PSD) Adviser, Section Head Wealth and Climate Change at the Department for International Development (DFID) Kenya, Adrian Green, was one of the speaker’s at yesterday’s Livestock Stakeholders Meeting, run by the Kenya Markets Trust in Nairobi.
Opened by Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Investment and Trade, Adan Mohamed, the meeting brought together stakeholders to explore ways they could expand the sector and penetrate new markets.

Speaking at the event, CS Mohamed said he believed there was huge potential in leather as Kenya has one of the largest livestock herds in Africa, although the sector accounts for only 0.3% of GDP.
Mr Green added that Kenya’s potential for economic growth was huge and the livestock sector was a key driver of this growth.
