The Born Free Foundation’s Will Travers has joined his mother, Virginia McKenna, as an Honorary Warden with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWF).

He received his official identification card early this month while at the offices of the KWF, just outside Nairobi and Tweeted that he felt ‘so honoured’.

This makes 2016 a year for double celebrations as it is also the 50th anniversary of the movie Born Free which starred his mother and father, as real-life conservationists Joy and George Adamson. The experience of making the film led them both to become active supporters for wild animal rights, launching the Born Free Foundation in 1984 with Will who is now President of the charity.
