The JustGiving fundraiser set up by the brothers of former Tropic Air Kenya helicopter pilot Roger Gower has exceeded its £50,000 target in just over one week.

Set up following their brother’s tragic death after being shot at by poachers in Tanzania, the Just Giving page has collected 941 donations and at the time of writing is at £51,032. The response has been so positive that brothers Max and John have increased their target to £75,000.

The brothers have also set up a Facebook page in the British pilot’s memory for friends and family to leave their thoughts and memories.

“Such a tragic death of a wonderful person. He was doing something the whole world should be doing in trying to stop the senseless deaths of these beautiful creatures for their ivory.”
