#KenyaLive captures mating lions in Naboisho

The latest video from the #KenyaLive team finds them on the prowl for lions in Naboisho.

We are introduced to the driver and safari guide Daniel who shows us an offshoot of one of the biggest prides of lions on the conservancy.

The video gives a fascinating look at the mating ritual of the lions as the live Periscope broadcast captures the initial stages of the coupling.

The team have also uploaded footage of mating lions captured during one of their night safaris.

Update (11 January): The team have come across the mating pair of lions for a second time.

The Mara Naboisho Conservancy

The Mara Naboisho Conservancy, where the filming takes place, is a private conservancy adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

The conservancy is home to impressive numbers of big cats as well as herds of elephant, giraffe, and wildebeest.

Unlike its neighbour, the Masai Mara National Reserve, this private conservancy strictly monitors the number of tourists who enter the area, reducing the number of vehicles and the human impact on the environment and wildlife.
