Team boss of the Tuthill Porsche rally team, Richard Tuthill continues his Video blog from day 2 of the 2015 East African Safari Classic Rally.
In his latest video, Richard describes day two of the rally as “absolutely crazy – a proper day in safari. A lifetime’s experiences in one day”.
Recounting the exploits of the team so far, he mentions a roll on stage two, and a car losing its front right corner later in the race.
Discussing the race positions at the end of Day Two, he describes it as ‘confusing’ due to some road penalties the team picked up which he believes will be abolished.
But he is full of praise for Stig Blomqvist saying the Swedish driver “is bossing the rally at the moment.
“He’s controlling it, he’s driving beautifully, the car’s working well”, he explains.
However, he is sympathetic for Kenyan driver Alastair Cavenagh who Richard says has dropped down the leaderboard from first place due to “a road mud hole”.
But the work isn’t done when the driving is over as Richard explains the team will be changing a gearbox in one car overnight due to a suspected bearing problem as well as continuing to work on the two other damaged cars.
