East African Safari Classic Rally 2015: British driver Andrew Siddall Completes Section 4 in first place

Andrew Siddall finished first in Section 4 of the East African Safari Rally

British driver Andrew Siddall in his Datsun 260Z (Car number 12) with Carl Williamson has completed Section 4 of the Kenya Airways East African Safari Classic Rally 2015 in first place with a time of 60.42.

They were followed by followed by Kenyans Onkar Singh Rai and Baldev S. Chager in third place and Belgium pair Francois Kicq and Andre Leyh in fourth, both teams driving Porsche cars.

Fourth place in the section went to Kenyans Carl Tundo and Tim Jessop in their Triumph TR7, with Swedes Stig Blomqvist and Stéphane Prevot completing the top 5 with a time of 62.47.

The top 5 finishers all completed within 3 minutes of each other, but it was bad news for Bernard Kessel in car 45, who blew his Porsche 911 engine and was ruled out for the day.‪

Friday’s racing also got off to a bad start for Gerard Marcy (Car number 4) who was unable to start Day 2 today following a fractured wrist injured during yesterday’s difficult Second Section.

Also out of today’s racing is Car 53 driven by Navraj Sagoo with Harneel Singh Sagoo and Rommy Bamrah and Harvey Jutley, Car 42 which broke down on Stage 4.

Meanwhile Porsche 911 Car 15, driven by Swedish team David von Schinkel and Per Bjorkman has reportedly been towed out of Stage 5.
