In 2006, then senator Barack Obama along with Nobel Laureate Wangari Mathai planted trees in Nairobi during a visit to the Kenyan capital.

Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Boris Johnson, U2 frontman Bono, Bette Midler, the G8 leaders, Naomi Campbell and George Bush (numerous times) have all been photographed planting trees during various ceremonies worldwide over the years.

And not to be outdone, current MP for Cardiff North Craig Williams, took the opportunity to leave his own lasting reminder by planting a tree during a visit with Christian Aid to Kenya ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris.

We hope Craig enjoyed his time in Kenya and we look forward to welcoming him back at some point in the future.
