The morning after a major terrorist attack like the one we witnessed last night in Paris is always going to lead to heightened vigilance at airports and other potential targets.

This morning (Saturday 14 November), Sussex Police were called to Gatwick Airport at around 9.30am this morning following ‘suspicious actions by a man who discarded an item at the airport’.

As a precaution, the North Terminal of the airport was evacuated.

Update: There are reports that armed police arrested a man with a ‘grenade in a bag’ and screamed ‘get down, get down’ before they restrained him.
