Could human waste be used to power Kenyan homes?

Naivasha is well known for its flower farms, an export which earns the Kenyan government millions of dollars.

However, the lack of toilets and adequate waste disposal system has created a sanitation hazard with most of the waste is simply dumped in the town’s scenic lake.

But now, a non-profit organisation of environmental activists is trying to change this and make their community more energy efficient.

They aim to convince people that rather than just dumping it in the lake, human waste can be made into coal-like blocks transforming it into a fuel source.
