Our Girl star and Send a Cow ambassador Ben Aldridge is running the 10 mile Tough Mudder on 8 July to raise money for the UK based charity which operates in East African countries, including Kenya.
Not only will Ben have to cover the 10 mile distance, but he will also have to navigate his way across over 20 obstacles along the course.
Tough Mudder London North will be a brand new course, featuring the unmistakable combination of classic obstacles, innovative challenges and mud.
As the charity’s ambassador, the Ben recently visited Uganda where he witnessed first hand the way the charity is working with local communities to help transform their futures.
“Send a Cow is a brilliant charity doing vital work in 7 African countries; Uganda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, and Zambia. Their work is incredible; lifting rural communities out of poverty in a sustainable, self sufficient way, whilst focusing on social development, gender equality and enterprise. 80% of their work is carried out by locals for locals, they don’t throw aid at a crisis but instead work with communities enabling and empowering them to raise themselves out of poverty in a self sustaining way, and it lasts.
“Send a Cow has been working with some of Africa’s poorest families for 30 years this year, helping over 2 million people work their way out of extreme poverty. They provide livestock, tools, seeds and training as part of a programme giving people the hope and means to establish a future for themselves and their families.”

Ben is aiming to raise £1,850 for the charity, and if you would like to sponsor him, you can do so via his Just Giving page.
