Gathimba Edwards Foundation fundraiser Alan Brown has completed his 105 mile run in a week to rescue a Kenyan family from a desperate situation.

Not only did the 63-year-old complete his 15 mile run every morning for seven days, he also smashed his fundraising target of £1,650 by £578.

The distance he covered was the equivalent of four marathons and was the most the 63-year-old has ever run in a single week.

Alan was moved to act after meeting Kenyan Ephraim and his daughter Abigail, not long after raising £11,619 for the Gathimba Edwards Foundation. Ephriam was involved in a motorbike accident which broke his leg in 2 places, rendering him unable to continuing working as a builder. Ever increasing hospital bills meant he was no longer able to take Abigail to start the secondary school he had promised and that her grades deserved.

The money raised by Alan will clear Ephriam’s hospital bills, pay for his much needed next operation and cover Abigail’s school fees.
