Yesterday, the British Army Training Unit Kenya’s (BATUK) Force Protection Platoon donated over £1500 of equipment and stationary to a local school.
Lance Corporal Newman of 1 Royal Anglian raised the money to fund the donation by completing a marathon in the altitude and heat of Nanyuki.
The Royal Anglian Regiment is an infantry regiment of the British Army and is one of the four regiments of the Queen’s Division.
The regiment came into being following the amalgamation of various county regiments and thus can trace its lineage back to 1685. Soldiers and officers of the regiment have been involved in nearly every conflict in the modern era.
