The Alchemist Bar in Westlands is the venue for a Jazz Jam session, featuring musicians from the UK, Kenya and Uganda this Wednesday (21 February) night.
Kenyan percussionist Kasiva Mutua and Ugandan singer Gloria Achilla will be joined by British pair; drummer Holly Madge and trumpeter Emma-Jean Thackray. The session will be produced by Kenyan Atemi Oyungu.
The event is part of the British Council Kenya’s East Africa Arts programme which promotes new art, shares skills of creatives and ignites partnerships between the UK and East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan).
Someone who is clearly looking forward to the event is British Council Executive Director Hilary Cross who Tweeted that she is looking forward to her first visit to Kenya.
