Used car dealer and exporter AA Japan Kenya has boosted its market presence in East Africa with the opening of their Nairobi office on Tuesday.
The company which has exported 5000 units to Kenya over the last two years is keen on establishing stronger relationships with both current and potential customers as well as seeking out new opportunities in Uganda and Tanzania.
“AA Japan has been doing business in the African region for a sustained period of time and the Kenyan market has always been stable for our business,” said AA Japan President Ramzan Hameed.
“The new office will make rapid regional expansion feasible and will also help us gauge how the market will perform in the near future,” he added.
AA Japan also provides a special service for clients who require vehicles for commercial purposes. This includes searching and purchasing the vehicles requested, facilitating shipment and meeting all export requirements.
The new office which will be located at FCB Mihrab Building on Lenana Road, Kilimani will be used to facilitate various transactional processes that were previously only carried out at the company’s global headquarters in Japan’s second largest city Yokohama. The office will also be able to accept local payment which will have a marked positive consequence in the whole purchasing procedure.
“Our initial scope of operations will revolve around serving the Kenyan market but we will also accommodate customers from other countries as well,” said Mr. Ramzan.
“The Kenya office will make AA Japan much more competitive and its services more tailored for our African business partners,” he added.
Part of AA Japan’s entry into Kenya includes the introduction of an exclusive auction system for local customers.
The system which will be introduced in March will allow buyers to bid on AA Japan’s stock and get vehicles at competitive prices.
After the launch, the company’s executive team will embark on a countrywide trip to meet up with second hand vehicle dealers in Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret and Nairobi.
Apart from East Africa, AA Japan also exports used vehicles to other African countries including Mauritius, Congo, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Their clientele is made up of both professional car dealers and individuals in other global territories including the Middle East, Europe and Oceania.
