This month, the Purdy Arms in Karen, which is owned by British expat couple Rob and Julie, are hosting the two-day Eloko Music and Beer Festival.
The event is split into two distinct parts beginning with A Ferocious Night on Thursday 15 February which is an intimate acoustic treat featuring festival headliners Ferocious Dog, supported by Rish. This is followed on Saturday 17th with A Ferocious Day, the main festival day, with Kaya Collective, Murfy’s Flaw and Crystal Axis supporting Ferocious Dog.
As well as the opportunity to be among the first to sample the refreshing Eloko Craft Beer, specially brewed in-house, the Purdy Arms will also be serving a wide selection of British beers and ciders.
On offer are Banks Old Amber, Old Empire IPA, Marston’s Pedigree, Old Thumper, Black Wych, Dr Thirstys No. 4, Hobgoblin (Bottles and Draught), Hobgoblin Gold, Aspall’s Draught Cyder (Bottles and Draught) and Aspall Permier Cru Cyder.
Festival headliners, six-piece British folk rock outfit Ferocious Dog, include former Carter USM guitarist Les Carter and are well known for their high octane live performances.
They will be supported by local acts Kaya Collective, Murfy’s Flaw, Crystal Axis and Rish.
