Rotary Club of Oxford Isis have made a generous donation of £1,500 to UK based Kenyan charity African Children’s Fund.

In the coming Rotary Year the group will once again be supporting the Abingdon based charity along with The Footsteps Foundation in the UK.

If you are in the UK with some old £1 coins still in your possession and wondering what to do with them now they are no longer legal tender, the African Children’s Fund shops in Faringdon, Grove and Witney are still collecting the old currency for their Porridge Pots fund.

African Children’s Fund is a charity working to break down the barriers preventing African children in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe from leading happy and fulfilled lives.

Established in the Spring of 2006 by Dee and Peter Tyrer, the Oxfordshire based charity and their projects are run by local staff who are committed to – and know the needs of – their own communities.
