Ten young Kenyans will be given just three minutes to persuade a panel of judges why their idea could make the world a better place as they attempt to bag one of 5 places on Future Leaders Connect, a new initiative run by the British Council – the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.

At the event, taking place in Nairobi next Friday (21 July), each competitor will have to present a three-minute speech explaining how and why their idea could improve the world.

“Through Future Leaders Connect we will help a new generation to understand practical policy development by putting them in contact with the leaders of today and helping them to develop the skills and international contacts they need to make positive change.” – Sir Ciarán Devane, British Council Chief Executive

The five successful Kenyans will travel to the UK in September, joining 45 others from around the world to meet the heads of policy organisations, policy-makers and British MPs.
